An example of epidemic formation that is currently occurring is heroine. The reason this is making such a comeback is due to the over-emphasis (epidemic formation) on methamphetamine. After reviewing recent reports of this, I noticed that in current years, there has not been any deaths in Incline Village due to heroine, however, in the past year there have been four deaths due to ermine.Some activities that could help to end the epidemic formation process would be to constantly educate about all drug use being harmful. There could be community fairs, better education in schools, and possibly even new movies about drugs and the problems they cause. Drug use rates do not match drug dependence/abuse rates.

Why? Explain. Drug use rates do not match drug dependence/ abuse rates because not every person is dependent on a certain drug. Sometimes, and more than likely often times, people use drugs recreational (they are not “dependent”) u to the ability to function without it.Another reason is because people will experiment with a drug and have a bad experience, leaving them with no urge to ever try that drug again. While this might not be a common reason why drug use rates and drug dependence rates do not match up is possibly because people will begin using the drug often and quickly realize it is harming them and will seek out help.

Rehabilitation centers help a decent percentage of addicts quit their habits, lowering drug dependence rates.
