While it isphysically composed of words, these words help enhance and build yourvocabulary for the brain, and its capacity to appreciate the understanding orstraightforwardness of the content.  Theliterature that I have read connects with life and culture in so many ways, because of some stories. Voltaireissued Candide in the age ofenlightenment. Voltaire’s story is distributed in The Norton Anthology of WorldLiterature, Volume 2, Shorter Third Edition. Voltaire’s character, Pangloss, isthe optimistic person in the story, who talks about God. Pangloss isadditionally a guide to Candide, who is the important character of the novel.Candide has a noble heart, but at the same time, he feels miserable in life. Pangloss encouragesCandide and tells him the world is “the best of all possible worlds.”Pangloss had a positive perspective and confidence that the world was great, and that God had created the world.

With that being said, I had a car accident, and a lady that I knew came over and told me, “Everything is going to be okay.”The statement that Pangloss told Candide is true because there is still good inthe world no matter the circumstances. Pangloss positivity relates to life andrelates to todaybecause in that situation even though, I was in a state of shockeverybody that came to help told me, “Everything is going to be okay.

” When Ithought it was not, being positive takes you far in life and I learned that nobodywants to be around somebody who is negative all the time. At least, I know I donot, but being optimistic about everything is the best way to move forward inlife. Moliere’s parody, Tartuffe, is a prime case ofhis ability to manipulate people. The plot keeps the reader intrigued andmindful. It starts with Madame Pernell going to her son Orgon’s home andcriticizing everyone except for their guest, Tartuffe. She trusts Tartuffe is aman of astonishing character. The individuals from the house, in any case, differ and say that Tartuffe is tricky and a cheat.

After Madam Pernell exits,Dorine and Cleante, the housekeeper and the stepbrother of Orgon, talk aboutTartuffe and both concur that he has charmed Orgon. With that being said, Ihave had several friends that I thought were my friends deceive me by talkingbehind my back. So, Tartuffe relates to real life by being a hypocrite, and aphony, because there are people who are like that in the world. Pretending, tobe something they are not, for example; Tartuffe pretends to be this piousperson in front of Orgon, but he cannot fool everyone else. He only tries tostay close to Orgon so, he can sleep with his wife Elmire. So, the moral of thestory is, it is best to watch who you keep around you as friends and who youlet in your home. Sometimes the people we trust will betray you quicker thanyour enemies.

In William Wordsworth’s poem The World Is Too Much with Us, thenarrator talks about his disappointment about the state in which he views theworld. All through the sonnet the narrator insistently expresses hisdisappointment with how distant humanity has become with nature. This poem mainlyargues that humans are dismissing what is really significant in this world:nature and God. Most of the focus in the world is on technology, materialistic items, and cars. Wordsworth gives a calm perspective of the world, past and future. Heuses the words “late and soon” expressing exactly how the past and future are incorporatedinto his portrayal of humanity.

The writer knows the capacity for mankind, yet themindset of “getting and spending” The link amidst writing and life are close andImportant. Writing is the tool that connects to an individual and their sociallife, because of the events that occur in the stories are close to real life. While the topic and treatment must be general to the human interest, theexpression must be emotive; and the pattern must give amusement and fulfillment.

Learning to realize the connection between writing, life, and culture has beena good experience for me. I learned a lot from reading stories in class andlooking at the importance that literature has to offer. Also, it affects mydaily life constantly because half of the subjects that were discussed in thebooks, plays, and poems that we read are happening in today’s society.
