U.S europeans. The reason why now that

U.S immigration to the united states, second waveToday i’m going to be explaining who came and what causes and effects happened during the second wave. During the second wave (1820-1880) the people that came the most were the chinese and the irish and the europeans about 1.3 million people came to the united states for economic opportunity and slavery and also religious freedom. During the late 19th century there was a party called the know-nothing. Then during that time the americans started calling the asians that immigrated to america the yellow peril. The yellow peril means that people think that the chinese and that japanese are coming here to take the americans resources and going to take over america because of the large amount of asians coming here. Now we’re going to be talking about the third wave.So between 1880 and 1930 the people that immigrated here were the chinese and the europeans. The reason why now that a lot more people are coming to the united states were because steam powered boats made them faster to travel to america. The push factors from the third wave were  High population growth in Southern and Eastern Europe.Lack of jobs and food.Scarcity of available farmland.Mechanization of agriculture, which pushed peasants off the land.Religious persecution of Russian Jews, who fled their villages after pogroms. The pull factors were  Democracy.Freedom of religion.Available land.Other forms of economic opportunity.Booming industries like steel and railroads advertised for workers in Hungary and Poland. These new immigrants helped build new railroads and took jobs in steel mills. There were so many people coming into the united states through ellis island that they began to close the door because ellis island was rusting and being worn down and also because of the war and they started making laws stating that a person can immigrate to the united states but they have to be reuniting with a family. Also the chinese exclusion act kicked out almost all and very many chinese and japanese from immigrating to america and basically that’s how close they will get to american mainland before their deported.                                                    THE THIRD WAVEToday i’m going to be talking about the 3 wave and who came and what were the outcomes or causes of this wave.So between 1880 and 1930 the people that immigrated here were the chinese and the europeans.
