The political system has changed throughout time and will continue to do so. One of the biggest fundamental documents that has influenced the constitution and allowed room for change is the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of Confederation brought the states together. It was enacted during the war and was the first written constitution of the United States. Maryland was a reason that the AOC was not ratified in 1781 while 12 other states were. There were concerns of the amount of taxes that would come into play over land ownership. A lot of people thought the Articles of Confederation was weak and needed to be a part of a more stable government, because majority of the powers were left within the state government. The articles were supposed to prevent states from operating with a form of diplomacy. Thankfully, the Articles of Confederation has had many revisions since it was first created. Because of the Article of Confederation, we were able to reunite, it brought all of our states closer and closer. The article of confederation is a major deal when it comes to the Unites States of America. It had major rolls throughout all of our states. It was time for us to have a stronger federal government. Without the federal government, we were going to be so lose and have no cue what to do next.
