The civil right act was a law that outlawed discrimination based on people’s color, race, religion, sex, or national origin. The purpose of the civil right acts was to end segregation and to ban all employment discrimination. The civil rights act was proposed by John F kennedy.The civil rights movement did not suddenly appear out of nowhere in the twentieth century. It started in the late 1940’s and ended in the 1960’s.The civil rights movement was an organized effort by black Americans to end  discrimination and gain equal rights for all people under the law.
There have been a lot of changes socially that have occured in the history of the USA. I have a dream was one of the most famous speeches in history from Martin Luther king Junior. In his speech he talks about all of the negro slaves who had been seared from there freedom.
Martin Luther King, Jr was the leader of the civil rights movement. He wanted no violence among all people. He wanted no violence between black and white people. He wants little kids to play with whom every whether they were white or black. He would do anything to keep the violent down including going to jail. Martin Luther King went to jail for protesting segregation in birmingham, Alabama. Martin Luther King wrote the greatest speech called “I Have A Dream”. The official event was called the “March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
When he was in there he wrote a letter to the fellow Clergymen talking about how he ran across his calling his MLK’s present activities “unwise and untimely”. In the letter Martin Luther King also stated that last September he had the opportunity to meet with the leaders of Birmingham’s community. And they realized that since then they were the victims of a broken promise. Martin luther king was assassinated 6 days before the civil rights Act became a Law. He was shot and killed on the balcony in his hotel room.
George Houser and James Farmer founded the congress for Racial Equality, they started to protest in front of the restaurants that would not accept black people as customers and would make them leave.Thanks to federal troops and the national guard nine black students were enrolled into a school. These nine students were constantly threatened but they manage to graduate from the central high. They were later known as little rock nine.
