In the United States of America, the average human could be considered as “unhealthy” if one were to look at the statistics and facts listed on many websites. According to the Human Health Services of America, by the year 2030, half of all adults will be overweight and at risk for various health conditions (HHS, 2018). In this paper, multiple variables and factors will be discussed that can help understand and recognize many ways to increase average healthiness and decrease the levels of negative health issues within the United States of America. Throughout America, the entire world in general, blood pressure plays a major part in the health of humans. To understand how, one should first understand what exactly blood pressure is.
Blood pressure is the pressure of the blood in the circulatory system, and it is commonly measured in physical exams and other diagnosis because of how closely related it is to the force and rate of a human heartbeat, along with the diameter and elasticity of arterial walls. On average, the healthy human has a blood pressure in the range of 120mmHG/80mmHG (HEART.ORG, 2017). Those above a blood pressure of 129mmHG/80mmHG can be considered to have an elevated blood pressure and any higher can also be considered to be high blood pressure, which puts a human at an elevated risk for heart attacks and other heart or arterial issues. There are fairly common and easy ways for us to keep our blood pressure at healthy levels, which include eating a healthy and balanced diet, regular levels of exercise, limiting alcohol intake, and various other things. If one sticks to these methods, they should be able to have a healthy and happy blood pressure. In the United States of America, it is determined that only about 1 in 5 adults, or 21%, reach the 2008 physical activity guidelines, which lists many of the standards required to be physically healthy(CDC, 2018).
Common knowledge is that physical activity promotes health, which has been proven time and time again by countless articles, studies, statistics, and many other sources. One example of physical activity that can help to promote health is weight training, which consists of lifting, pushing, and moving things that have set weight intervals and levels. According to the Center for Disease Control, or CDC, it is stated that “people who are physically active tend to live longer and have lower risk for heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, depression, and some cancers” (CDC, 2011).
Types of weight training that can be done to help promote this bodily health and growth include general stretching and jumping with barbells or small stress balls, using weighted ankle cuffs and vests, or even using resistance bands while lifting. Sticking to even these few methods can help tremendously with personal health.
