In today’s complex and interconnected world of business, the science of information and analytics is increasingly important. With my extensive background in Analytics and Validation , I have become quite interested and skilled in this area. However, if I am to prepare myself for the challenges of a successful career in the future, it is essential that I combine my experience with further education in Information Systems. A graduate degree in Information Systems will give me an inimitable competitive advantage for my career advancement.

The master’s program in Information Systems at University of XXXXX is thus an ideal where I could enhance my knowledge and skills to achieve professional goals.  From a young age, I set goals beyond those of my peers. I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics/Information Systems, but in recognition of the limitation of the programs in this field in my native country, I decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in Biotechnology at VTU. I received an incredibly valuable learning experience, beyond that which I could have not received elsewhere. Graduation from high school and competitive entrance examinations are requirements for admission and enrollment in Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU); Following my enrollment in the University, I completed my academic coursework, and in 2010, I was awarded a Bachelor of Engineering degree. Thereafter,   I was enrolled in the Master’s program at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Throughout my academic programs, I completed several Information Technology related courses, including Computer Concepts, C Programming, Computer Programming Lab, Basics of Computer Applications (SQL, XML, C++, DBMS), Bioinformatics & Computational (Medical Informatics), Management of Technology & Project Management.

As a result, I am confident in my ability to complete the MS in IS program successfully at your university. After graduating from the Master of Science program in 2012, I got an opportunity to work as a Business Analyst in at Express Script Inc., a Fortune 500 Company, specialized in pharmacy benefit management. As a Business Analyst, I gained acquired knowledge and skills in  the experience and knowledge on Software Development Life Cycle, Requirement Ggathering, Change Ccontrol Mmanagement and Testing.   Currently, I am working with the client-at UPMC Health Plan (Pittsburgh) as Senior Systems Analyst for the Core Development tTeam.

My roles and responsibilities include functional requirements gathering, coordinating system test activities with business, development and pre-production groups. Performing unit testing, functional testing, UAT testing, testing ongoing project enhancement and working with interdepartmental teams in UPMC Health Plan`s, supporting the operations department on various backend updates and data transformation using SQL.   Furthermore , I also have developed an automation tool for loading pricing data which was is used to configure several contracts for processing business rules.  The automation tools  used in the project significantly reduced the manual dependencies. I was actively involved in the product demonstrationss and presentations which gave me an opportunity to become a process trainer for my team. Additionally, I was also given and an opportunity to lead one of the crucial projects  at the UPMC Health Plan, this also imparted management skill and leadership skills in me.  Being able to deliver under pressure, meeting stringent deadlines and, being a team player have further helped me enhance my interpersonal and communication skills . I am enthusiastic to grasp new concepts and share ideas, I believe I can bring the same energy and passion while working with my fellow students and professors at the DSU.

   In my professional experience of about five years, I have learned that there is abundance of information available from various sources. However, the challenge is identifying and organizing reverent information. If given the opportunity to join your Information Systems program, I will be able to utilize my extensive background in Engineering with over 5 years of experience in Validation and Analytics, while learning additional skills and techniques that will be greatly beneficial to my future career development.

I hope to use my skills and background to learn effective organization and utilization of available information. Modern businesses are heavily reliant on Information, and this is integral to the successful management of an organization. I am eager to explore this field in the presence of the esteemed professors at your university.
