During the late 1700’s and early 1800’s political parties, government, and people made an enormous difference in how the new nation’s economy and the government should be structured and run. During this time period, two men had become slightly superior in diplomacies and their corresponding parties. These two individuals were Alexander Hamilton, a Federalist, and Thomas Jefferson, a Democratic-Republican. Hamilton and Jefferson made numerous notable contributions to the development of the United States overall economy and government. However, Jefferson had more leverage over the development of the United States’ government during this time period as he had been elected president and had remained in office for eight years or two terms. Historically Hamilton and Jefferson are known for quarreling over many different policies being discussed concerning the establishment of the American government its structure. And it is Jefferson’s view on economics, government structure, and Constitutional interpretation, which took precedent over Hamiltion’s.
