Establish a marketing division that will handle marketing for all accounts (Figure shows proposed reorganization of Capital City Bank) C. CA – Have monthly meetings with the heads of each division Ill. Advantages and Disadvantages of Each CA Advantages: This is not costly for the company since this person is someone who is already an employee given the task to check on bank accounts. Thus, there would be no additional salary expense. The regular checking on the bank accounts allows early detection of odd cases therefore, minimizing possible damage.
Disadvantages: There would be difficulty finding and ideal employee for the job because there is a possibility of having trust issues. The regular checking is not secretaries for avoidance of odd cases because it is only for detection. The marketing division helps in avoiding odd cases like the Oriental Account problem. The other two divisions (Trust and Corporate Banking Divisions) will have a lighter load thus, helping them concentrate more on their work. The marketing division also helps in having specialization of labor.
Disadvantages Reorganizing the company is costly since it widens the organizational structure, not narrowing. This course of action is a hassle because to establish a marketing division would mean that the company would have to reorganize he bank again. Employees may get confused at the initial implementation of the reorganization. C. CA #3 – Have monthly meetings with the heads of the division With the monthly meetings, the heads could have a regular check-up on the status of each division and the company. Also, the monthly financial statements can be discussed.
There is a sense of transparency between the two divisions (Trust and Corporate Banking Divisions). Disadvantages: This is time-consuming because the time used for meeting can be used for regular work. Monthly meetings may be in conflict with the heads’ personal affairs. IV. Recommendation (Comparison Method) Having monthly meetings with the heads of the division (CA #3) is simple and easy, since not much is spent on it. Also, with the meetings, progress of the company is regularly checked and possible odd cases may be noticed.
However, this does not exactly imply that odd cases could be prevented. Assigning someone to constantly check on all accounts of the bank to assure that there are no odd cases (CA #1 ) and establishing a marketing division that will handle marketing for all accounts (CA #2) are better choices than CA #3. Both courses of action suggest the detection of odd cases. But, when the company does assign someone to do regular check-ups on the bank accounts, there won’t be an avoidance of odd cases because they are only detected.
Also, it is difficult for the company to find the ideal person for the job because they might end up hiring a person who ends up tampering records. With this, establishing a marketing division that will handle marketing for all bank accounts is deemed to the best course among the three alternative courses of action. If the CB would reorganize the company and establish a marketing division, odd cases like the Oriental Account case an be avoided because the division handles all accounts for marketing.
