Women around the world nevertheless regularly suffer violations of their human rights throughout their lives, and realizing women’s human rights has not always been a priority. Women are generally known and most importantly given the name of ‘the weaker sex’ tag. It is a universal concept that generally men are physically stronger than women and the women are physically weaker than men.

Undoubtedly women endure much more pain than men do.Women have not been treated nicely by men; they have been denied rights, opportunities. These are very common incidents on a daily basis in offices, sports, schools, factories and entertainment. It’s a harsh reality that women have been ill-treated in every society for ages and India is not an exception to this universal problem. The irony lies in the fact that in our country where women are worshipped as shakti, the atrocities are committed against her in all sections of life. She is being looked down as commodity or as a slave and also faces other atrocities within the four walls of her house.Women are deprived of economic resources and are dependent on men for their living. Women works are often confined to domestic sphere, she has to do all the household works, which are not recognized and unpaid. Moreover, she is the last to be considered and first to be fired as she is considered to be the less productive. Law cannot change a society overnight, but it can certainly ensure that the disadvantaged are not given a raw deal. However, the courts can certainly go beyond mere legality insulting women against injustice suffered due to biological and sociological factors.

Indian judiciary has been very sensitive to women and women related issues. The apex court took special interest in discharging its legal and constitutional obligations and safeguarding the interest of women in changing situation and societal demands. Violation of women’s rights has been a worldwide phenomenon.

Almost all the countries of the world have not been free from this crime. Every organization, both private and public must have a complain cell that would sympathetically examine complaints of economic disparities. Equality in all stages must be installed without any bias and discrimination. Though the position of Indian women had improved since independence, it was not up to the level of expectations, because we live in a sick society. The battle for women’s cause is long and tough. It is not enough to provide and guarantee rights.

Effective action and achievement should be the aim, goal and target in a democracy. Everyone should realize it in reality and work for integrity.Law plays an important role in shaping the society. Particularly for women folk, it has been considered as an essential condition for their emancipation. The traditional role of men as well as women in society and in the family is needed to achieve full equality between men and women. The position of women community has been a fluctuating subject since the early ages with the ups and downs in the Hindu Society, the status of women has been affected.

WOMEN RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTSAttaining equality between women and men and eliminating all forms of discrimination against women are fundamental human rights and United Nations values. Achieving equality between women and men requires a comprehensive understanding of the ways in which women experience discrimination and are denied equality so as to develop appropriate strategies to eliminate such discrimination.For centuries past, women all over the world have not only been denied full justice, social, economic, and political but as a “weaker section”. They have been used, abused, exploited and then discarded to lead immoral, street vagrant and destitute life till their death. There are certain groups of human beings which either by nature or because of deep-rooted customs is weak and vulnerable, such as, a child, women, disabled persons, aged persons, migrant workers or persons belonging to a particular race. However, they being human beings do possess human rights and fundamental freedoms. But their rights have been violated very frequently by the dominant section of the society.

The general though unfortunate impression has ever since been that women are sub-human societies, an object of contempt and ridicule, a commodity for barter, an expendable asset and a plaything for mere sexual enjoyment. The term ‘Human Rights’ is comparatively recent in origin, but the idea of human rights is as old as the history of human civilization. The term ‘Human Rights’ was adopted only in the last century from the expression previously known as ‘Natural Rights’ or ‘Rights of Man’. Human right is paramount to all laws of the globe.

No law is superior to this. These are those rights to which an individual has a claim by virtue of simply being a human being. Some human rights are basic, fundamental and natural. For example, right to life, right to food and shelter right to have dignified life and right to follow one’s conscience all are basic rights of all human being. No state can take away these rights.

Massive human rights violations are characteristics of a world in deep crisis. Universal respect for human rights could lead to a chain reaction that would help to solve many of the world’s ills.The Indian society is a tradition bound society where women have been socially economically physically, psychologically and sexually exploited from time immemorial sometimes in the name of religion sometimes on the pretext of writings in the scriptures and sometimes by the social sanctions. The concept of equality between male and female was almost unknown to us before the enactment of the constitution of India.

Most people are unaware of their legal rights until they appoint a legal firm/advocate for their problems. We endeavour to enlighten people on their general legal rights so that they are apprised that they are not misguided by the authorities. Most lawyers out there want you to approach them again and again with new problems, so that they can make more money. Their business model depends on you having recurring problems. So they will always like to offer you temporary fixes, instead identifying the root of the problem and eliminating it altogether.

That is why; their actions or advice will not change anything in your policy, or business process, but will merely deal with the problem at hand.
