1.1 Explain what it means to have duty of care in your work role. A. Duty of care is my legal obligation, to always act in the best interests of my clients. To always be trustworthy and to follow the Code of Practice set out by our company and by working to high standards and all legislations and policies.
My role is to Support clients with complex Mental Health and provide them with best possible care making sure all my clients needs are met with a Person Centred Approach and respond accordingly in the best interests of my clients ensuring safety from harm and promoting independence and the right of choice. 1.2 Explain how Duty of Care relates to Duty of Candour. Duty of care relates to candour by encouraging openness, honesty and transparency in a care and support environment, by being open and honest with clients in my care, there carers and/or family when things go wrong.
