• One of the benefits of having a tall structure is having several layers of management between employees and the top level. This means that the number of employees reporting to managers will be smaller, therefore there are greater opportunities for managers to monitor employees. Tall structures also have a narrow span of control which allows close supervision for employees. • Another benefit of a tall structure is that employees know their job roles and they know what they are responsible for.
This shows that their roles and responsibilities are clearly defined which means that there is greater control and better performance in the company. • Having a tall organisation means that discipline and work relationships will improve this may be because the workers are being supervised. Managers in each layer will know what is required by the employees. By having several layers of management it is easy for the company to promote more employees to management positions.
